Inspiring Leaders Share, Support and Celebrate as the Manufacturer’s Alliance Annual Conference Wraps up for 2022

High calibre manufacturing leaders from across the North West of the UK, Wales and West Yorkshire came together on 18th May 2022 for the first annual face to face conference in three years.

The long-anticipated event centred around the theme of inspiring leadership, included keynote speakers, Alex Grace of Banana Moon Clothing, John Bowden of ATEC Engineering Solutions & Kate Hulley of Belmont Packaging. They all took centre stage sharing refreshingly honest and authentic insights into how they strive to lead with inspiration and empathy whilst achieving personal and professional ambitions.

Participants attended workshops delivered by the Manufacturers’ Alliance team of industry experts covering core subjects, embracing people, purpose and profit. Members and guests were encouraged to get involved and decide on actions to take away from the day creating a unique catalyst style experience to spark positive change in everyone’s approach to leadership.

The Manufacturers’ Alliance Annual Conference 2022 may have wrapped up, but a new journey has just begun for many of the attendees. A leadership journey with purpose, genuine authenticity and the courage to be vulnerable. The many insights shared at the conference have sparked new thinking that will change manufacturing leadership for the better.

The day produced thought-provoking ideas, fun, and lots of laughter, which has clearly strengthened the community, building on existing bonds and creating new ones. Contributing to a period of growth for Manufacturers’ Alliance members, students, and customers, manufacturing across the Northern UK and Wales regions.

Dan Parr of Flexipol Packaging fed back on his experience stating,

I thought today was excellent, really. The organisation of it was great, great topics, excellent presentations, and useful interactive sections too. Most importantly (and this is built over time), there was a real buzz around the room today, with a really positive and creative energy pouring out of the attendees.

I can honestly say, that joining the MA is one of the best decisions I have made in recent years. A great organisation, with a great purpose and with great people.”

Manufacturers’ Alliance Founder Gary Sheader reflected,

It’s hard to put into words the experiences that inspire your thinking and really touch your heart. Everyone involved in the conference were amazing. The speakers, the attendees, the sponsors and the Manufacturers’ Alliance team. The atmosphere and buzz in the room was electric.”

“I am hopeful that this will be a catalyst for change for the manufacturing sector. A change that encourages leading authentically and business owners and managers wanting to make a difference for the people that are employed in the sector. For the sector to survive, I believe this change is imperative.”

The event was truly unique with invites reserved purely for manufacturing business leaders in Managing Director, ownership or senior roles enabling a trusting, open environment with a genuine agenda to inspire leadership in manufacturing that breaks through the boundaries of possibility.

If you missed it, you missed out…but not entirely! There is always time to spark change and the community is always on hand to warmly welcome new leaders looking for support and inspiration.
