Net Zero

The Climate Change Act, commits the UK to achieving ‘net zero’ by 2050. But as we have seen and heard at COP26 this week, progressing towards ‘net zero’ by 2050 at the pace we are moving will not nearly be enough. Waiting for world leaders to ‘pull their finger out’ will be too slow and potentially disastrous. But leaders in the manufacturing industry like you can lead the way to ‘net zero’ quicker.

Mia Mottley, the Prime Minister of Barbados, has been the most honest, moving and inspiring speaker at the COP26 so far: https://youtu.be/PN6THYZ4ngM

How can we reduce our carbon footprint faster?

The manufacturing industry (together with the transport and storage industries) is the third-largest direct greenhouse gas-emitting sector of the UK economy.  So, how can we take those steps needed to achieve net zero faster? Technology could play an incredibly important part. Industry 4.0 type technologies and digital tools are being utilised by many manufacturing businesses to lower their carbon footprint, as well as improve productivity.

In this webinar we will explore how digital tools are playing a role within the manufacturing SME community to help you accelerate your progress towards net zero. Allen Camm, Relationship Manager from Made Smarter will share how they’ve already helped many businesses with their Net Zero/Sustainability strategy in the manufacturing industry. He will be sharing case studies of best practice to help you identify the actions you can take to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Made Smarter was created following an industry-led review of how UK manufacturing industries can prosper through digital tools and innovation. This independent review was commissioned by UK Government and led by Professor Juergen Maier CBE, Co-Chair of Made Smarter UK.
