Kevin trained as a Graduate Engineer at Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd at Burnaston, Derby. His main role there was working as new vehicle introduction and manufacturing quality engineer, and later as a maintenance, then continuous improvement manager. He has experience of working at several Toyota plants in Japan as part of new vehicle introduction process. Since leaving Toyota, he has worked on continuous improvement, lean and quality improvement projects. Whilst working for Mercedes, he was struggling to obtain products that he wanted to introduce into the trackside processes, so with his boss at the time and the consultant he was working with, they decided to make the products themselves.
