The Industry 4 Summit is a combined conference & trade exhibition, and since its launch in 2017 has attracted visitors from across the UK manufacturing spectrum eager to see the latest technologies & solutions to make their operations smarter. Visitors to the event will gain an insight into government policy, get support & access to finance, understand the latest business models, hear about large- & small-scale 4.0 case studies, and what all this means for you and your business.
The Founder of the Manufacturers Alliance, Gary Sheader, shared his views on why they are supporting the Industry 4.0 Summit, “I have attended the Industry 4.0 Summit since it’s launch 2 years ago and have been impressed by the passion and enthusiasm from the team to put on a really good show for UK manufacturers. We love to work with people that share our passion for supporting UK manufacturers, particularly SME manufacturers that have ambition to grow. We are running a couple of roundtables and exhibiting this year and will hopefully meet a few SME manufacturing leaders that are keen to grow.”
Gary also shared his thoughts on Industry 4.0, “Whatever you call this Industry 4.0 thing, the next decade will bring a lot of change to the world and UK manufacturing. We all remember the introduction of computers and mobile phones. The technology starts off slow and before you know it, you can’t live with out it. I see technologies such as, additive manufacturing the Internet of Things (IoT) being similar. We have seen the early adopters phase. The next 2 to 3 years, these technologies are really going to take off. My advice would be to educate yourselves at summits like this and stay ahead of the curve. Playing catch up is always an uphill struggle.”
