On 12th June 2018, the Manufacturers Alliance will be launching their 6th peer group for ambitious manufacturing leaders at multi award winning Packaging Automation in Knutsford. This group will be supporting the growth and continuous improvement of manufacturing businesses based in the Cheshire area.
The group will be made up of 12 – 14 manufacturing leaders that are on a growth journey, and keen to learn from others on a similar path. The Manufacturers Alliance philosophy is to avoid reinventing the wheel and accelerate the growth of their members and businesses via sharing best practice. Our capacity to do this effectively has been key to support a highly productive manufacturing base in the UK. The more we can support non-competing business leaders in sharing ideas the faster we can grow our manufacturing base.
Packaging Automation have been members on the Manufacturers Alliance for 5 years and will be showcasing how they have doubled the size of their business over this time. Neil Ashton, Operations Director at Packaging Automation shared his views on the new group, “The Manufacturers Alliance has been a catalyst for us as a management team and as a business. We knew we needed to change and having the ideas and support from other manufacturing leaders has been priceless. The monthly meetings provide me with an opportunity to develop myself personally and also take back new learning for the team. We are looking forward to sharing our journey of ‘double in 5’ with other local manufacturers and seeing the Manufacturers Alliance grow from the strength to strength.”
Each of the Manufacturers Alliance peer groups has 2 Chair People. Experienced business leaders that have reached a point in their career where they want to give something back and utilise their experience to help others grow and achieve their ambition. Chair for the new Cheshire group, John Barnes said, “I have always had a passion to support and help other people in business. I have been a Chair for The Manufacturers Alliance for just over 2 years now and it has provided me a platform where I can use my experience to help others and work with the most remarkable people. Being the Chair of a second group in Cheshire was a no brainer for me. I’m looking forward to nurturing the growth of more North West based manufacturers.”
