On 28th February and 1st March the Industry 4.0 Summit will be happening in Manchester. This is the second year of the event in Manchester, with more to offer than the 2017 summit. This years event has attracted experts from across the globe to speak and educate local manufacturers, as well as, exhibit their technology offerings. This is a not to be missed event for the North West manufacturing community.
Gary Sheader, Founder & Chair for the Manufacturers Alliance will be holding a roundtable on both days at 1pm. The theme for the discussion will be, “Discussing the support required by SME manufacturers to adopt industry 4 type technologies: understanding what is available and where to start.”
This is a topic that Gary has a real passion for, as he believes the industry 4.0 type technologies are the next wave of change and improvement for the manufacturing sector. Gary shared, “15 years ago we had the lean manufacturing revolution within the sector. Those that did not adopt lean principles are either no longer trading or hanging on with their finger nails. Industry 4.0 is the next revolution. I want to encourage SME manufacturers in particular to adopt early and lead the change. For most manufacturers the adoption of these new technologies will help to differentiate and improve your competitive advantage. Do it before your competitors do.”
Attending the roundtable with Gary on 28th February or 1st March will help you to gain a clear understanding as to what other SME manufacturers are doing to adopt these new technologies. It will provide you with an opportunity to discuss and share ideas with other local manufacturers at the start of the journey.
