In line with their growth plans, Lancashire-based moulding specialist MGS Technical Plastics has recruited experienced project engineer Judson Smythe from South Africa.
His appointment follows a review of the additional management capacity needed to handle the increase in orders at MGS.
MGS director John Sturgess said: “We’ve got some really big projects coming up and realised that we needed a specialist to manage the processes and keep them on schedule”
Judson (30) joins MGS from the Jasco Group in Durban, SA, where he was an engineering manager working with 50 injection moulding machines and a workforce of 250.
He was previously a tool and die maker, and later studied industrial engineering at Durban University of Technology.
Judson Smythe said: “I’ve always worked in the plastics industry and joining MGS is the perfect opportunity to expand my horizons and experience another country’s approach to the manufacturing sector.
“In my new role I will be responsible for new product introduction and managing current projects. I’ll be drawing on my experience whilst working on technical projects to ensure that our work is done right, first time, every time.”
John added “With his international experience of working within world leading organisations, Judson has a lot to bring to the table and we’re looking forward to working with him, hearing his ideas and delivering an even better service to our customers.”
